The Summer University and me
I wish you a wonderful day.
After travelling for four month in North America (Canada, USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and El Salvador) I asked myself one question: Robert, why are you travelling so fast and why travelling at all?
Actually I want to meet interesting people and do something special, something different, something I haven´t done in Germany so far.
I heard of the International Summer University in Santiago (during Christmas ¿coincidence?), exchanged a couple of Mails with Joachim Borner and found myself in the next flight to Santiago, where I arrived at the 8th of January. I didn´t know what to expect and what my work will look like. I can´t even speak fluently Spanish or understand everything, but the work topic Transformation via Transmediastorytelling convinced me immediately.
Selfmotivation
„I am the Intern here?
„Why?“
Good question. First of all, I wanted to do something. My options were volunteer work in Guatemala (Semuc Champey) far away from electricity, hectic pace and any „civilization“ or the Summer University.
FinalIy I decided to go to Santiago, because I was/am curious about new visions, structures and ideas for the future. Furthermore I hoped to meet interesting people, who also have similar question and seem to be restless in finding answers. I hoped the Program would offer this. That was all in all the motivation that brought me here. And I was not disapointed, but I will tell you more about that at another time.
